I've uploaded my book to the web
http://www.gestures.org/book.html
Broken was written between 1999 and 2005, with minor editing in early 2006 and again in the Fall of 2007. I had hoped to publish it in print, but the demands of teaching so many students (I average 300 students a semester) and so many courses (sometimes as many as five per semester, as well as weekend college courses and intensive summer sessions) made this all but impossible.
Please be aware that while this is a substantial work, it has not gone though the usual publishing process. I am sure there are errors that remain in the work that I haven't caught (I always seem to have copy and paste issues). And while I hope it is useful to readers, my teaching schedule has precluded me from keeping up with work published after this work was finished. As I think I make clear in the work itself, this is not necessarily a book "about" Agamben's work, but rather an effort to use it to think through existential-political-philosophical problems in relation to my own life. This makes any public relation to the work that much more problematic precisely because it is so intensely personal.
Please feel free to contact me at: theory @ sfsu dot edu if you find any errors in the text or have other comments. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
