Images of Eroticism

This is the course website for Dr. Robert C Thomas' "Images of Eroticism" at San Francisco State University (HUM 390) 

The course covers issues of censorship, pornography, sex/sexuality, gender, feminism, gay and lesbian sexuality, sado-masochism, and more. We are studying work from such seminal figures as Bataille, Foucault, Masoch, JG Ballard, Nagisa Oshima, porn studies scholars Linda Williams, Walter Kendrick and Lynn Hunt, and films by Oshima, Michael Winterbottom, Eon Mckai, Bruce La Bruce, Warhol, and Michael Powell, Serge Gainsbourg, among others. This website is a central place for course information, images, links, updates, comments and reflections.
